The Ascutney Mountain Audubon organization will be putting on its 20th Herrick's Cove Wildlife Festival this coming May 5th. We are looking to recruit students interested in getting community service hours as volunteer to help us for one hour or more on the May 5th. We would greatly appreciate it if you could get the attached volunteer jobs list out to your student community. Thank you so much for your help.

Student Art Show:

Art! - The month of March is Student Art Month in Brattleboro. Leland & Gray is superbly represented by our own artist in residence, Fairen Stark! The ceramic and sculpture show will be up through the month of March at the Vermont Artisan's Design Gallery on Main Street in Brattleboro. See Ms. Nyzio with any questions. Thank you!

Community Service Opportunity:

helpers needed for a fundraising brunch at the Brattleboro American Legion on April 28th, 2019. Team up with volunteers from Brattleboro Lions Club and the American Legion. helpers needed to set up, serve and clean up. Sign up by March 28th with Jim Zoller 802-428-4333 team3gc@gmail.com

Blood Drive Upcoming:

There will be a blood drive at Leland and Gray on Tuesday, April 30th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. You can find guidelines on who can donate (age and weight restrictions) and schedule an appointment online at https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements.html. Mimesis, Leland and Gray's fabulous literary magazine featuring the work of Leland & Gray students and staff will be published again in early June. We'd love to showcase your work! Please submit your poetry, prose, graphics (high contrast drawings or photographs that will reproduce well in black and white), or digital projects (for the online version of the magazine) by 5/15/19. Please send submissions to 19maxwells@lelandandgray.org. If you have any questions or are interested in helping with the magazine, please see an English teacher: Ms. Doty, Ms. Landenberger, Ms. Matson, or Ms. Rowan.

If students are interested in doing Hats Off this year, come to our planning meeting Thursday 3/28 from 2:45-4:30 in A9. If you cannot come after school, we will also be having a lunch meeting that same day. bring your ski and song ideas (and your lunch). What is Hats Off? A celebration of skits and songs. It's the most fun production all year! Ask Ms. Rowan if you have any questions.

3/25/19, MONDAY: Spirit Assembly Schedule 60 min. 12:25 - 1:25 Decades Trivia: How well do you know the decades? 20 minute assembly followed with 40 minutes of Class time to prep Dress Up: Celebrity Day

March Madness is back for a second week. It is time to see if you can pick the “Elite 8”. Choices are available on a blue sheet in the office or outside of Mr. Weber’s room. It needs to be completed before you leave school on Thursday. Good luck, everybody.

Sophomores!

If you have not yet registered for the Sophomore Summit, you need to do that as soon as possible! Workshops are on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a mandatory field trip for all sophomores on April 10th. More information to come. Please check your email for the registration link.
